/clear and auto-compact in Claude Code

In Claude Code the context keeps filling until you run /clear. Every so often it auto-compacts, which creates a “summary of a summary” and weakens the context.

Between unrelated tasks, dropping a /clear in lets you use the tool productively for much longer.
