A measurement-unit standard across iOS and Android

A common standard for measurement units between iOS and Android looks to be on the way.

Previously, when moving a design across both platforms, we found the Android equivalent by multiplying the iOS measure by a coefficient. A shared standard will reduce that designer-developer friction; having the same number mean the same thing on both platforms is a big convenience.
